Yaël holds a Master’s degree in Cognitive Science from Université Paris Cité, where he studied conscious visual perception at the Integrative Neuroscience and Cognition Center for his thesis.

He joined the lab as a PhD student to further explore consciousness, specifically investigating its presence during sleep. His research aims to determine whether neural correlates of conscious experience can be detected in sleeping patients using stereotactic electroencephalography.
